Essential Sewer Improvement Work Planned for Cushendall Road Ballymena - Diversion Route Altered

28 June 2013 12:07

As previously advertised, NI Water is about to commence an essential programme of sewer improvement work in the Cushendall Road area of Ballymena.  However, following further consultation with DRD Roads Service, we have had to alter the diversion route, due to another utility contractor working nearby.  Please note that the new diversion route for vehicles will now be via Broughshane Road and Fry's Road.

Work is still scheduled tpo commence on 1 July 2013 and will take approximately 5 weeks to complete.  The works will involve installing a new storm sewer between the Cushendall Road cul-de-sac and the roundabout.

Due to the location of the new storm sewer, it will unfortunately be necessary to close the Cushendall Road to through traffic from the cul-de-sac to the roundabout for the duration of the works.  However, a diversion will be signposted via Broughshane Road and Fry's Road.

NI Water and our contractor, Farrans' Construction, will carry out letter drops in affected areas to advise residents of this work.  We will continue to work in co-operation with DRD Roads Service and would like to thank the residents and road users in advance for their co-operation and patience during this essential improvement work.  There will be some disruption and delays at peak times while this work takes place, but we would like to assure customers that every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.

NI Water's customer relations team can be contacted via Waterline on 08457 44 00 88.  Customers with any questions on the scheme should quote ''KB452 Cushendall Road Ballymena - Storm Sewer Extension.''
