Supplies Restored to Customers in the Fermanagh and Tyrone Areas

13 January 2015 11:49

NI Water would like to advise customers in the Fermanagh and Tyrone area that all supplies have been restored.

Those customers on higher ground and those affected by air locks in the system however, may experience a slight delay in their supply returning. We would encourage any customer still experiencing problems to ring our dedicated customer call centre on 08457 440088.

Approximately 200 properties served by the Lough Fea Water Treatment Works (Cookstown area) may be currently experiencing disruption to their water supply due to the ongoing industrial action.  However, NI Water is using all resources at its disposal today in order to resolve this. We anticipate that all customers should be back on supply later today.

Unfortunately, with 26,000kms of watermains, 15,000kms of sewers and literally 1000’s of pumping stations and treatment works to monitor it was virtually inevitable there will be interruptions to services to our customers.

NI Water remains on high alert with a Major Incident regime in place and we are committed to continued engagement with Trade Unions in an effort to resolve this dispute. The company would stress once more the key demand that pension reform be delayed is not within its gift to provide. It believes dialogue rather than causing disruption represents the best way forward.
