Essential Sewer Upgrade Work Planned for Glen Road Area, L’Derry

28 January 2015 15:48

NI Water is scheduled to commence an essential £89,000 programme of work to upgrade the sewerage infrastructure in the Glen Road area of the city. Work is expected to commence this week and will continue for approximately 12 weeks. This programme of work is part of an overall package of work representing a £780,000 investment in the local infrastructure.

The work will involve the installation of a new sewer pipeline on the Glen road between the Creggan road and Lowry’s Lane, and the improvement of pipework along Lowry’s lane.  The purpose of this work is to upgrade the sewers to improve the capacity of the existing infrastructure and reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding in the area.

As with all schemes of this nature, there will be an element of disruption. However, we will endeavour to reduce disruption and minimise the impact of our works on the local community. To facilitate the construction work in the safest possible manner and to minimise the disruption to road users, NI Water and its contractors, GEDA Construction, in agreement with Transport NI have carefully planned the work to control the flow of traffic in the area.

NI Water and our contractor GEDA Construction would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while this essential work is completed and would like to assure you that we will do everything we can to complete the work as quickly as possible.

Customer queries should be directed to Waterline on: 08457 440088 quoting our contract reference: KL504 Buncrana Road Stage 2.
