Courtney Hill Newry – Storm Sewer Work Continues

30 July 2015 16:04

Construction work on an NI Water project to construct a new storm sewer at Courtney Hill in Newry is progressing well. The sewer is being laid to serve a new school currently under construction. It is anticipated that the project will be completed in Autumn 2016.

This project  involves the  laying of approximately 320m of large diameter storm sewer along with the construction of associated manholes.
Due to the nature of the work and the location of existing services, it is necessary to temporarily close Courtney Hill to allow the work to be carried out in a safe manner. Detailed traffic management plans have been reviewed with Transport NI to try to minimise the impact of these works. NI Water will continue to liaise closely with Transport NI to minimise disruption throughout this contract.

NI Water alongside our Contractor Euro Environmental Services  would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while this essential work is completed and would like to assure you that we will do everything we can to complete the work as quickly as possible.
