Pipelaying to commence on B8 Hilltown Road- Ballydougan to Newry Trunk Main Scheme
21 August 2015 10:38NI Water can advise residents and commuters that work will shortly be undertaken along the B8 Hilltown Road between the roundabout and the junction with Crieve Road. This work forms part of the wider Ballydougan-Newry Trunk Main Scheme, worth some £6m million; this is a significant project which will upgrade the local water storage and supply network and enhance the security and quality of drinking water for customers in the Newry area.
Pipelaying work will commence on the Hilltown Road during the week commencing Monday 24 August, with work programmed for completion during the autumn of 2015. The overall scheme is scheduled for completion in spring 2016. In an effort to complete this work as quickly as possible, NI Water has agreed the following working hours with Transport NI:
- Monday – Friday: 9:30am-4pm and 6pm-11pm
- Saturday and Sunday : 8am-8pm
- Friday 28 August – local band parades (no work on site after 4pm).
- Saturday 29 August – Last Saturday in August parades (no work on site all day).
- Sunday 30 August – Newry Triathlon (no work on site all day)
