Essential Watermains Improvement Work gets underway in Carrickfergus area

 | NI Water News
An ongoing Water Mains Improvement Programme across Belfast and Carrickfergus was recently announced at an approximate investment of £10.9 million. As part of this investment, work is now underway in the Doagh area of Carrickfergus. It is estimated the overall programme of work in the wider area will take approximately 9 months to complete.   Affected areas include; Ballyfore Road, Knockview Road and the Woodford Road.

This project is good news for the local area as the new watermains will improve the quality, reliability and security of the local water supply, while reducing leakage and improving pressure in the area.

Traffic management and signage will be in place where relevant, and local access for residents will be maintained.

NI Water and our contractor Farrans Construction would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation and will do everything we can to reduce disruption as much as possible. We will continue to work closely with stakeholders in the area including Translink to ensure that public transport services function with minimum disruption.
