Sewer Work Gets Underway in Crumlin Area

11 March 2016 16:08

NI Water is currently undertaking work on a new storm sewer on the Mill Road/Nutt’s Corner Road, Crumlin.

This project is being carried out to provide a storm sewer for a new development on the Nutt’s Corner Road, Crumlin. The work will involve the laying of approximately 136m of pipe and associated manholes for this new connection to the sewer network.

Detailed traffic management arrangements have been agreed with Transport NI. In order to allow the works to be carried out in a safe manner, it will be necessary to have a temporary road closure in place on the Nutts Corner Road from Tuesday 15th March for approximately 2 weeks. The area affected by the closure shall be from the Crumlin Rd Junction to the entrance to Sheiling Grange. Access for local residents and businesses shall be maintained as far as possible. The diversion route shall be along the Manse Road, following onto the Crumlin Road.
NI Water and our contractor Campbell Contracts appreciate that work of this nature can be unavoidably disruptive, particularly where temporary lane closures are required. We would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while this essential work is completed. We will continue to work closely with Transport NI to minimise disruption to local residents, businesses and road users, as far as practicably possible. The overall project will be completed in Spring 2016.
