Holywood Sewer Network Improvements- Phase 2 Public Information event: Wednesday 22 June

14 June 2016 12:09

NI Water is planning to commence sewer laying work on the Belfast Road, Holywood in mid-July. This is Phase 2 of the Holywood/Kinnegar Sewer Network Imrpovements Project, which is ongoing. We would like to take this opportunity to invite the local community to a ‘drop in’ information session on Wednesday 22 June from 4pm – 7pm, at Holywood Baptist Church, 67 Belfast Road, Holywood.

The work will involve the laying of approximately 430m of sewer along the Belfast Road (between the A2 on-slip and house numbers 57/32 Belfast Road).

The work is planned to commence on Monday July, and be completed in mid-September. During the majority of this work, the Belfast Road will remain open in both directions with two-way traffic controlled by the use of temporary traffic lights. However, a road closure will be necessary for safety reasons to complete a deep section of sewer between house numbers 50 and 32. We anticipate that the road closure will be in place for approximately three weeks during August /September; this is subject to agreement with Transport NI.

Members of the NI Water project team will be available at the ‘drop in’ session to discuss the scheme in further detail and discuss any queries you may have. Everyone is welcome to attend.

NI Water would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation while this essential work is completed. It is envisaged that, following the completion of both phases of this major project, the frequency and severity of odours in the area will be greatly reduced.

Customer queries regarding this project should be directed to Waterline on 03457 440088, quoting “KR640 Holywood Sewer Network Improvements – Phase 2, Public Information Event”
